The Most Honorable Order of The Crown of Johor
Darjah Mahkota Johor Yang Amat Mulia
The Most Honorable Order of The Crown of Johor was instituted on 31 July 1886 as part of Johor’s orders of chivalry and is based on the British Order of Saint Michael and Saint George. Members of the Order may use the title “Dato’” for male members and the title “Datin Paduka” for female members.
It must be mentioned here that although Johor created the honorific title of “Dato’ Sri”, it remained silent as it was the wish of Sultan Abu Bakar. This was based on the precedent set by the British Order of Saint Michael and Saint George which did not differentiate between the honorific “Sir” whether it was a Knight Grand Cross or a Knight Cross.
